Nienke Hoogvliet
The Hague, The NetherlandsNienke Hoogvliet is the founder of Studio Nienke Hoogvliet, a design studio dedicated to material research, experimental and conceptual design. Created in 2013 with Tim Jongerius, the studio engages in freelance projects for different companies and institutions but also continues research in self-initiated design projects. Having grown up near the beach, Nienke’s connection to the ocean was the foundation of the research into seaweed and fish skin as an alternative material contributing to a more sustainable textile industry.
