Iain Borden

Iain Borden is Professor of Architecture & Urban Culture, and Vice-Dean Education, at The Bartlett, University College London. As an architectural historian and urban commentator, he explores the ways in which urban and architectural spaces are experienced and perceived by city dwellers, especially those not trained in architecture. Much of his research has focused on the urban experience of skateboarding, more recently extending to that of automobile driving and cinema. Iain is an Honorary Fellow of the RIBA, has written for various media outlets and recently wrote 'Skateboarding and the City: A Complete History' (2019) published by Bloomsbury.
