Anne Lacaton graduated from the School of Architecture of Bordeaux, where she also earned a diploma in urban planning. In 1987 she founded the studio Lacaton & Vassal with Jean-Philippe Vassal. She has lectured and taught at numerous international universities including the ETSAM Madrid, EPFL Lausanne, TU Delft and the GSD Harvard University. The work of the practice has been published widely and received many prizes and recognitions including the Big Mat’17 International Grand Prize for the FRAC, the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture in 2018, and in 2019, the EU-Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture for the transformation of the housing of Grand Parc Bourdeaux.
