According to ecoBirdy’s website, 80% of toys end up in landfill, incinerators or the ocean while 90 per cent are made of plastic and are used for just six months on average. Debuted in 2018, the Antwerp-based brand upcycles plastic toys to create a range of colourful, 100% safe and recycled plastic furniture for kids. The range includes Charlie the Chair, Luisa the Table, Kiwi the bird-shaped Storage Container, and Rhino the Lamp, all of which feature a speckled, terrazzo-like appearance given by the tiny bits of plastic.
