In this video, architect Matthias Hollwich from the New York-based firm Hollwich Kushner introduces their prototype for an intergenerational skyscraper, “Skyler”. Designed following the principles outlined in Hollwich’s recently published book, New Aging Live smarter now to live better forever, the building encapsulates a cross section of society where people can live fulfilling lives from birth to old age. It includes a business continuation center for the 65+ community, daycare centers for small children, an infirmary, and a health center where inhabitants can stay fit and nurture an informal support system with neighbors, family, and friends.
