The Afterlife of Architecture
Ancient Ruins are often thought of as architectural memory - but will they remain with us forever? How must we factor in the long-term effects of climate change when we build? And what to do with all those outmoded industrial complexes in a digital age? We are only starting to understand the long-term often disastrous, effects of the construction industry. A year ago, the images the Grenfell Tower fire shocked us all – but what has been learnt in its aftermath and how will it be applied? What about our own carbon footprint when we die? Eco coffins and cremation by water are just two solutions. We also hear about a man with a mission; to selvedge the iconic mosaic tiles of the Barcelona and a unique decorative language. The Afterlife of Architecture; Facing the challenges of the hereafter.
