The Roca Galleries are buildings that express Roca's willingness to engage in a permanent dialogue with society by creating a platform for exchanging knowledge with professionals in the fields of architecture, interior design, management, and all those who are linked to innovation and sustainability.
Located on the main road of Dongzhimen Street in Beijing, Roca Beijing Gallery is designed by the world-renowned architect, Ma Yansong, the founder of MAD Architects. “I hope that the Roca Beijing Gallery can become a positive and vivid corner of the urban community, connecting people and the city in the simplest way possible,” says the designer Ma Yansong.
Roca Beijing Gallery has two floors with 800 m² indoor spaces, featuring a high glass façade as the main characteristic. The multimedia surfaces visibly connect the spaces within the gallery, creating a scene that interacts with light, imagery, the city, streets, and people.
Interaction, both with nature on a human scale, is the essence of Roca Beijing Gallery. The glass facade provides a window into the urban environment that surrounds it. Inside, the giant LED screens display various digital exhibitions in a poetically visual way, along with projections of people playing and interacting with Roca’s products. These can be seen by both visitors to the gallery and pedestrians on the street outside, creating a unique, fun experience for everyone to enjoy.
More than just a physical space, the Roca Gallery concept expresses Roca's current situation and its future challenges. Based around the values of design, innovation, and sustainability, the Roca Galleries demonstrate the brand's desire for an ongoing dialogue with society as a whole and, most particularly, with the professionals who share its concern and interest in the evolution of the bathroom space. The Roca Galleries are to provide a meeting point for dialogue open to designers, architects, and interior designers around the world. The Galleries in Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, London, Shanghai, and Beijing offer a platform for the exchange of multidisciplinary knowledge, making up a global network for the detection, interpretation, development, and promotion of new trends in the industry. OAB (Oficina de Arquitectura de Barcelona), Lamela Arquitectos in Madrid, Ferruz Decoradors in Lisbon, Zaha Hadid Architects in London, Francesc Rifé Studio in Shanghai, and MAD Architects in Beijing, have given this vision form in venues that combine attractive aesthetics with brand attributes.
