The Roca Galleries are buildings that express Roca's willingness to engage in a permanent dialogue with society by creating a platform for exchanging knowledge with professionals in the fields of architecture, interior design, management, and all those who are linked to innovation and sustainability.
The space for the Roca Shanghai Gallery begins with water in its many forms and phases.
Designed by Francesc Rifé, it was the first Roca Gallery to open in China. Roca Shanghai Gallery is a living space that provides a platform for dialogue and knowledge sharing between society and professionals from the world of architecture and design through a varied agenda of activities related to architecture, technology, design and sustainability, among other subjects, which take place throughout the year.
The space begins with water in its many forms and phases.
With over 700 m², the Roca Shanghai Gallery draws inspiration from the different forms and phases of water as the main axis that connects the whole space, in an architectural setting of straight lines, right angles and large surfaces with contrasts provided by the refined combination of brass with shades of black and white.
The façade
Roca Shanghai Gallery plays with the concept of day and night: in the daytime, its interior is revealed to invite visitors to discover it; when night falls, the outward projections on the façade’s translucent screens interact with passers-by.
More than just a physical space, the Roca Gallery concept expresses Roca's current situation and its future challenges. Based around the values of design, innovation, and sustainability, the Roca Galleries demonstrate the brand's desire for an ongoing dialogue with society as a whole and, most particularly, with the professionals who share its concern and interest in the evolution of the bathroom space. The Roca Galleries aim to provide a meeting point for dialogue open to designers, architects, and interior designers around the world. The Galleries in Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, London, Shanghai, and Beijing offer a platform for the exchange of multidisciplinary knowledge, making up a global network for the detection, interpretation, development, and promotion of new trends in the industry. OAB (Oficina de Arquitectura de Barcelona), Lamela Arquitectos in Madrid, Ferruz Decoradors in Lisbon, Zaha Hadid Architects in London, Francesc Rifé Studio in Shanghai, and MAD Architects in Beijing, have given this vision form in venues that combine attractive aesthetics with brand attributes.
