Renowned Mexican architect Manuel Cervantes is currently in Barcelona, and in this talk, he will share his perspective on the city. In an intimate and insightful conversation with architect and communicator Pau M. Just, Cervantes will discuss his approach to architecture within his cultural context and how it adapts to new realities while maintaining a strong connection to its roots.

Pau M. Just is an architect and the creator of the YouTube channel Deconstruyendo el Cine, where he analyzes architecture through film, series, and popular culture. His ability to merge the worlds of architecture and film analysis has
allowed him to connect with a broad and diverse audience. With his accessible and unique style, Pau breaks down complex architectural topics in a way that is understandable for everyone.


With Manuel Cervantes

Born in Mexico City in 1977, Manuel Cervantes is an architect, a member of the National System of Art Creators, and the National Academy of Architecture. In 2004, he founded Manuel Cervantes Estudio. He has been a professor at the University of Virginia (UVA) since the spring of 2022, joining the School of Architecture as the Jacquelin T. Robertson Visiting Professor in Architecture. Cervantes frequently collaborates with humanitarian foundations and Mexican government institutions such as Asociación Gilberto, FONATUR, FOVISSTE, and INFONAVIT. His urban and architectural projects span multiple countries in Latin America, Europe, and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to his academic role at UVA, he conducts workshops and lectures at universities in Mexico, the United States, Spain, and Portugal.
