What is Biophilic Design and how can this nature-based design approach be applied to help mitigate the effects of climate change? Whilst Biophilia is generally considered to be human centred and most frequently used to enhance interior spaces, how can the benefits be spread across the built environment- to create mutualistic benefits for all life?
Our panel of experts will explore how allowing nature to flourish in all spaces can support biodiversity, make cities more resilient to the effects of the climate crisis, whilst also more comfortable and equitable to live in.
This talk will draw on some of the leading authorities on biophilic design and explore why nature should be at the heart of every design process, whatever the scale. To conclude the discussion a Q&A will provide the audience to engage with our expert panel.

Dr Vanessa Champion, Journal of Biophilic Design
Originally an academic at UCL, with a PhD in Greek and Latin. Vanessa worked in the British Museum, honing her interest in how societies flourish and how visual environments inform behaviour. She founded The Journal of Biophilic Design to share interviews with thought leaders on how biophilia supports wellbeing for people, planet and place.
