Please join us for an in conversation event to close the exhibition Come Deck the Halls! Alison Smithson: Intertwining Life and Art.

Twentieth Century Society director Catherine Croft will be in conversation with Patrik Schumacher, Principal of Zaha Hadid Architects (who created the Roca London Gallery space);  Dirk van den Heuvel, Associate Professor Architecture TU, Delft; and Ana Ábalos-Ramos, curator of Come Deck the Halls, discussing how architects, such as the Smithsons, become iconic figures in cultural history.

This event will offer a last chance to see the Smithson exhibition which Ábalos-Ramos created in collaboration with the Smithson Family Collection. Through it, she continues her research into how the Smithsons used exhibitions to test ideas outside of built project time.  Pieces from Alison Smithson's historic Christmas exhibitions are interwoven with images of the couple's projects, creating a fascinating timeline of how their work and ideas evolved.
