West Bund in Shanghai was once a cradle of modern industry in China. Located on the site of the former Shanghai Cement Factory, which has nearly a century of history, the GATE M Dream Center has been collaboratively designed by several leading architectural firms. This innovative project preserves elements of the original factory’s industrial heritage while creating a dynamic mixed-use space that integrates commercial retail, riverside leisure, contemporary art, and urban living. As the first project in the GATE M series developed by HZM Capital, the West Bund Dream Center officially opened in September last year.
On Friday, May 16, Roca Shanghai Gallery in collaboration with HZM Capital and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) will host a project tour to explore how the GATE M Dream Center is contributing to urban renewal. Ellen Chen, Design Principal of Dream Center will lead a project tour, she will introduce the architectural layout and future planning of the waterfront area, pedestrian corridors, and the overall project. She will also showcase how operations and investment are shaping future-oriented architectural design and development strategies.
