Julia Erdmann is the founder of Socialtecture, an emerging field that fuses social life and architecture. In 2017 she established JES Socialtecture to bring this life-centered design approach to municipalities, companies, and foundations, helping them develop holistic solutions for complex urban challenges, such as turning vacant city centers into vibrant neighborhoods. With over twenty-five years of experience in urban development, Julia studied architecture and urban planning in Hamburg, New York, and Barcelona, and coled an architecture and design office for twelve years. In 2024, together with her JES partner Indra Musiol, she founded the School of Socialtecture to teach their transformative approach. She remains passionate about advancing urban development that prioritizes life.
