Liu Yuyang is the founder and principal of Atelier Liu Yuyang Architects, which was established in Shanghai in 2007. He received his Master in Architecture from the Harvard University GSD and his BA in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California, San Diego. While at Harvard, he conducted his thesis under Prof. Rem Koolhaas and coauthored the "Great Leap Forward," a seminal work on the urbanization of China's Pearl River Delta, published by Taschen and 010 Publishers in 2001. He has lectured and taught at many universities in China and abroad, and his work has been featured widely in international publications. In addition, he has curated and exhibited at numerous exhibitions including the Shenzhen and Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture, the Shanghai SUSAS exhibitions, and the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
