Marta M Roy Torrecilla

Marta M Roy Torrecilla is a Spanish-born architect based in Rotterdam since 2006, combining practice, research, and teaching in her work. After gaining international experience at West 8 and Mecanoo, she has been a senior architect at RAU Architects since 2018, leading circular projects such as the Netherlands Pavilion for Expo 2025 Osaka. Through her research-by-design practice Kartonkraft, she collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to investigate how global challenges—climate adaptation, circular economy, mobility, and urban densification—shape the built environment in the Netherlands. Her work has been presented at the IABR, Rotterdam Architecture Month, and the Oslo Architecture Triennale, and she has taught at TU Delft, the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, and Politecnico di Milano, among others.
