Kathryn Larsen is an architectural technologist and architect MAA. Originally from New Jersey, she is based in Copenhagen and Nykøbing Falster, where she combines material science with vernacular construction techniques to come up with new applications for the building industry. She is the founder of Studio Kathryn Larsen, which specializes in renovations and material-driven design, and she is the cofounder of ReefCircular, a company focused on innovative biodesign, especially with respect to marine biobased materials. The work of her studio was featured in the UIA World Congress 2023. In 2024 ReefTile, a modular brick that boosts harbor biodiversity developed with ReefCircular, was a finalist for the Danish Design Award.
