Renewable Energies Human history is inextricably tied to the search for energy sources that would allow us to live more comfortably, move farther and faster, and stimulate endless prosperity. Up until the middle of the last century it seemed that fossil fuels were the perfect solution to achieve all of this and more. However our reliance on coal, petroleum and natural gas has proven to be shortsighted and dangerous, resulting in a complex problem that affects almost every aspect of everyday life. The need to continue developing renewable energies is one of the great challenges for now and the future and the transition to clean energy systems requires an integral design approach that combines high-tech and low-tech solutions.
