Throughout history we have redefined and even reformulated how we design buildings, cities, and landscapes, as well as the everyday objects and devices that we use in response to the shifting needs and values of society. Today, rapid technological developments together with a growing consciousness about the environmental crisis are resulting in a radical rethinking about the scenarios and strategies that we need to consider. This complex and challenging situation implies the need for permanent research to imagine new typologies and more options for living, learning, working, and moving about in the future.
