Heather Macey

Heather Macey is an Associate Director at John McAslan & Partners, a teacher at the London School of Architecture, and founding member of Architects Aware! a London-based think tank dedicated to addressing the homeless crisis. She runs the Practice's Initiative studio, developing pro bono initiatives both in the UK and internationally. She is passionate about ethical design and seeking new opportunities to develop high-quality socially responsive architecture. She led on the John McAslan & Partners' Hidden Homeless initiative—a design competition to propose decent housing for homeless young people in London—in collaboration with broadcaster Jon Snow and supported by the Mayor of London. She is a member of the 2020 NLA Expert Panel for Housing, providing thought-leadership on the design and delivery of housing in the capital, looking at issues from improving quality of living, accessibility and well-being, to modern methods of construction.
