Albert Faus

Burkina Faso

Albert Faus holds a degree in architecture from ETSAB-UPC and a diploma in building engineering from EUPTB-UPC. He has lived in Burkina Faso for the last ten years, where he has led numerous building projects for international cooperation institutions. He has promoted R&D projects, and was awarded the Fundación Banco de Sabadell Prize for Innovation presented by the COAC in 2015. Always working with limited technical and financial resources, in his projects he focuses on building with local materials, interpreting traditional techniques with a contemporary language and making improvements with the incorporation of modern products and methodologies. His renovation and extension project of the Guiba Maternity Hospital was awarded the FAD International Opinion Award in 2017.
