Carlos Ferrater holds a PhD in architecture and is a professor of architectural design at the UPC. He received the National Architecture Award in 2009 for his career achievements, was named a RIBA International Fellow in 2011, and was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts in 2019. He has won the FAD Award five times, the City of Barcelona Award in 1999, 2008, and 2024, and the Brunel Award in 2005. In 2001, he received the Spanish Architecture Award for the Catalonia Convention Center, and again in 2011 for the Benidorm Promenade. In 2020, he was honored with the European Garden Award (EGHN). Among his most notable works are three residential blocks in the Olympic Village in Barcelona, the Olympic Village in Vall d’Hebron, the Scientific Institute and Botanical Garden in Barcelona, the Intermodal Station in Zaragoza, the Mediapro building in Barcelona, and the Science Park in Granada.
