Max Hacke studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and at the Architectural Association (AA) in London. After graduating in 2013, he worked in various London offices and founded Büro Hacke in Berlin in 2016. His work covers a broad spectrum, from public, educational, and residential buildings to research and teaching. He taught at the TU Braunschweig from 2021 to 2023 and lectured at the TU Berlin from 2016 to 2019. He was appointed to the Association of German Architects (BDA) in 2023. Max Hacke, together with Gustav Düsing, received the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture-Mies van der Rohe Award in 2024, the 2023 German Architecture Award (state prize), and the 2024 DAM Award for the TU Braunschweig Study Pavilion. In 2025, he will be architect-in-residence at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris.
