Peter Cachola Schmal is the Director of the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) in Frankfurt, Germany since 2006. He studied architecture at TU Darmstadt where he taught as an assistant professor from 1992-1997 and from 1997-2000 at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. From 1990 to 1993 he practiced as an architect and in 2000 he became a curator at the DAM, and represented Germany twice at architecture biennales: in 2007 in Sao Paulo and in 2016 in Venice. In addition to being responsible for more than 200 exhibitions, he has been widely published and participated on many juries. He is a member of the steering committees of the EU-Mies Award and the Public Space Prize of the CCCB.
