ZHANG Miao started her architecture studies in Sichuan University in 1999. After several years of practice, she went to the Berlage Institute in 2011 for postgraduate research. In 2013, she founded the research-based design studio MAT Office in Rotterdam together with TANG Kangshuo. Since 2015, she has been practicing at MAT Office in Beijing. She is the leader of the office space research , which focuses on the research and design practices of coworking, coliving, cocommunity, and cultural education topics. Her work has been widely published by national as well as international media such as World Architecture, Domus, FRAME, C3, Designboom, Gooood, Archdaily, Architizer. Her work has formed part of the 15th \16th \17th Venice Architecture Biennale.
