Ahmad Alkattan is a senior architect at the Aedas Middle East-Dubai office. He holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (Hons) and has just completed his Master of Science in Renewable Energy Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. He was the winner of the Dubai Roca One Day Design Challenge in November 2019, and he was the winner of the first edition of the Roca Master Design Challenge held in January 2020 in Barcelona. Alkattan is passionate about the arts, architecture, sustainability and minimalism, and he is extremely interested in exploring the fusion of all the aforementioned through scientific research. Currently he is developing a low-cost solar thermal collector based on his master’s dissertation.
