Anssi Lassila

Anssi Lassila is the founder and director of OOPEAA Office for Peripheral Architecture, which is based in Seinäjoki and Helsinki, and he is professor of practice in contemporary architecture at the Oulu School of Architecture. He combines sculptural forms and a skillful handling of materials and innovative techniques with a keen interest in exploring the potential of wood to develop new systems of flexible modularity. The work of OOPEAA is actively engaged in research and development of architectural solutions that support social and ecological sustainability and it has been widely recognized in terms of awards and publications in Finland and internationally.
