Andreu Carulla has a degree in Product Design Engineering and Industrial Design from the Universitat de Girona. In 2006 he founded his studio, which is recognized as one of the most versatile and innovative design firms working in Spain today with an emphasis on materiality, craftsmanship and sustainability. He combines a constant exploration of materials, old-school techniques and contemporary processes in the design of diverse products and projects including furniture, tableware, lighting, creative direction, interiors, and more. He teaches at a number of universities and has been awarded numerous national and international prizes.
