David Garcia has a degree in Architecture and a PhD in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). He is a founding member of and Technical Director at BIS Structures, a structural consulting company dedicated to the planning, calculation and management of architectural structural works, rehabilitation works and civil works, with projects located around the world. He has received numerous national and international awards. The founder of the Institute of Structural Studies (IEE) and the Catalan Institute of Wood (INCAFUST), he was President of the Association of Structural Consultants (ACE). He is the author of several publications and is also Serra-Hunter Lecturer in the Structures Department at the UPC and Academic Director of Structural Engineering in Architecture at the Polytechnic Foundation of Catalonia (UPC).
