Ruth Slavid is a writer and editor who specializes in architecture, construction, landscape and lighting. She worked in a number of roles at The Architects’ Journal and previously at Construction News. Since becoming freelance in 2008, she has written for numerous publications and organizations, as well as chairing webinars and judging competitions. She is the author of nine books on architecture. Since 2012 she has been a judge on the Wood Awards. She also edited the journal of the Landscape Institute for five years. She has a degree in metallurgy and materials science from the University of Cambridge.
