Roca Barcelona Gallery obtains B Greenly certification as a sustainable venue

Passing the international audit and reinforcing Roca’s commitment to sustainability and innovation

Roca Barcelona Gallery has obtained the B Greenly certification, an international sustainability standard for venues and events that recognizes the integration of environmental, social, and economic criteria in the management and operation of spaces. This recognition endorses the Gallery’s commitment as a model of responsible management aligned with the principles of sustainability.

The certification process involved a comprehensive assessment of ten key areas—general aspects, space, mobility, environmental protection, water and energy, food, waste, communication, carbon footprint, and evaluation—using a methodology based on international best practices and aligned with benchmarks such as the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the 2030 Agenda. As a result of this analysis, Roca Barcelona Gallery achieved an overall score of 73%, exceeding the minimum threshold required to be recognized as a sustainable venue.

An iconic building committed to sustainability

The B Greenly audit highlights as key strengths of Roca Barcelona Gallery its general aspects, such as its well-connected urban location and its contribution to local economic and cultural development; the surrounding environment, emphasizing measures to minimize acoustic and light impact and to ensure respectful coexistence with the city; mobility, noting excellent accessibility by public transport and on foot; and the space itself, recognizing its efficient, accessible, and flexible design, supported by the use of digital technologies and modular furniture.

Social, cultural, and local impact

The report also underscores the role of Roca Barcelona Gallery as a platform for cultural dissemination and a driver of local economic development. The space fosters collaboration with local suppliers, promotes talent in the fields of architecture, design, and sustainability, and makes its facilities available for community, educational, and reflective activities, such as urban debates and sustainability-related workshops.

The certification positively assesses the team’s training in sustainability, the commitment to diversity and inclusion, and collaboration with social and environmental organizations, including the We Are Water Foundation, with which awareness-raising initiatives on water care are carried out for diverse audiences.

The achievement of this certification forms part of Roca Group’s global sustainability strategy, based on the integration of environmental, social, and ethical criteria across all its operations. This recognition is consistent with the Group’s outstanding performance, as in 2025 it was awarded the EcoVadis Platinum Medal, the highest distinction of this international standard, placing Roca Group among the top 1% of companies worldwide. In this way, Roca Barcelona Gallery stands as a tangible expression of a corporate vision focused on generating a positive impact on people and the planet.
