Roca Lisboa Gallery invites you to join us on April 23 at 6:00 p.m. for a conversation entitled “The Other Side of FORMA,” dedicated to the theme “Post-Disaster Architecture,” organized by the FORMA Awards.
The discussion will be moderated by Hugo Ferraz, architect and founder of IF, and will feature the following speakers: • Lígia Nunes, architect and founder of the association Architects Without Borders Portugal; • José Luís Pereira da Costa, Architecture and Pre-Construction (Design & Building) Coordinator at TopBIM • Tiago Mota Saraiva, architect, urban planner, and founding partner of Ateliermob
In recent years, extreme events have intensified, highlighting the vulnerability of the territory and the built environment. Against this backdrop, the post-disaster period poses demanding challenges for construction and reconstruction: how can we ensure swift and effective responses while simultaneously guaranteeing quality, safety, and housing dignity? And how can architecture contribute to the recovery of affected communities?
This session invites reflection on the role of architecture in these contexts, exploring strategies and solutions that are more resilient, efficient, and tailored to emergency situations—capable of addressing immediate needs while contributing to the reconstruction of affected lives, reinforcing a sense of belonging, and preparing the region to face future extreme events.
Admission to the event is free, but registration is required as seating is limited.
